Our Mini Dacshund Dillon has been in chronic pain for the last week - after a couple of visits to the vet, they decided to admit him for a day and x-ray his spine. The results show possible calcification of the vertebrae and have been sent to a specialist for clarification. We are unsure at this time if the disc has ruptured and entered the spinal cord. He has been prescribed Rimadyl which seemed to be 'taking the edge off' the pain, along with Prednisolone. I have checked a few sites on the web tonight and am alarmed by what I have read on Rimadyl. I came across your site and was interested in the treatment you call Dex. I have clicked on the link but am unable to find a reference to it - please can you help it is breaking our hearts to see him in so much pain and so unhappy. Also - he's started walking backwards - have you ever heard of this?
