Harley is a 12wk old mini daschund. He is black with brown markings. Totally beautiful, But having a very hard time potty training. We have a small kennel that we keep him in and I let him out at the same times every morning and about every hour during the day. Sometimes he just stays outside for about an hour and will wine at the door to come back in. This is where it gets frustrating, after being out he will come in and poop! I could just scream!!!
I go out with him every morning, stand and wait until I see him both urinate and pass a stool. I always reward him for both with praises and sometimes a few bits of dog food. He always goes to the same spot everyday, and I always say the same thing " lets go outside and go potty".
I have had him for two months now and don't understand why it is taking so long for this whole idea of potty training to sink in. I trained my black lab the same way and had very little problems.
Can any advice be given to help?
