I have a mini doxie who had back surgery on July 27th. I had him at our vets and they were administering steriods. At that time 9:30 in the morning he was able to walk, some what, and and feeling in his leggs. I believe that his accident happened sometime on the 25th but he was walking, urinating and showing signs of feeling better until the morning of the 27th. By 2:20 on the 27th my vet called me and said he no longer had any use of his leggs or deep pain. I rushed him to the Helen Woodward hospital where they did a mylogram and performed surgery by 5:30. He regained deep and superficial pain by July 29th. Today August 5th he is unable to walk using his back leggs and is just begining to urinate on his own. I am putting him through Hydrotherapy with Trish Penik - Cutting Edge K9. Does anyone out there have any hope they can give me. He was not overweight and was a very active dog. I thought I was doing the right thing but now I am beating myself up thinking that I needed to get him to the surgeon on Monday. If I had known what was happening he would be walking today.
Thanks Joann
