Our 4 year old mini, Tootsie started showing problems yesterday which worsened as the day wore on. After 2 visits to the emergency vet we decided against surgery and opted for steroids instead. They gave her solumedrol. When we get to our regular vet tomorrow I will ask about dex. What do you know about glucosimine or vitiman C/EsterC?? She lost the use of her back legs but still has bladder and bowel control. What other non-surgical options are there? We thought last night if she didn't have the surgery we would have to put her down. But after reading more today, it seems many do recover--What percentage? How long does it take? Can she still sleep with us or does she need to be crated at all times? Does picking her up make it worse? HELP! She is such a sweetie...
